「龍」

龍

龍は、古代中国人が想像した変幻自在の霊獣で、龍の形態にも細かい決まり事が多くありました。しかし、日本では総てに勝る万能力を表す吉祥文様として自由に表現され、愛されてきました。また、二匹の龍を向かい合わせて文様化したものは、「双龍文」と呼ばれています。

Ryu (Dragon)

Conceived by the ancient Chinese, the dragon is a surreal and sacred beast whose shape had a number of established defining features. In Japan, however, it has been more freely expressed and has been loved as an auspicious symbol that represents insurmountable power. Additionally, the pattern of two dragons facing one another is known as “Soryumon.”
