「花唐草」

花唐草

奈良時代にシルクロードを経て中国から日本に伝わった唐草文様に、可憐な空想上の花を組み合わせた異国情緒ある文様です。蔓や葉が美しく絡み合い、どこまでも伸びていくその生命力ある様子から、一族の繁栄や長寿を意味する吉祥文様とされています。

Hana-karakusa （Floral Arabesque） 

This is an exotic pattern that combines the arabesque design introduced from China to Japan via the Silk Road in the Nara Period with lovely fantastical flowers. The vines and leaves are beautifully intertwined, and because of their vitality that allows them to extend endlessly, this pattern is said to be an auspicious one that symbolizes the prosperity and longevity of a clan.
