「百花のさきがけ」と言われるように、厳寒の中でも香り高く咲きそめる梅。そんな梅の花びらを、中心から捻れたように一方向に重なりあう様子を意匠化した「ねじ梅」は、梅の愛くるしさを醸し出している、おめでたい文様です。

Nejiume (Twisted Plum)

The plum blossom is said to be “the forerunner of a hundred flowers” and blooms fragrantly even in severe cold. The design of the plum blossoms is based on the way the petals of the plum blossoms overlap in one direction as if twisted from the center, creating a congratulatory pattern that evokes the loveliness of the plum blossoms.
