色紙散らし文

色紙とは、和歌、俳句、絵などを書く、方形の厚手の和紙のこと。
その色紙を数多く組みあわせ、画面に散らした文様を、色紙散らし文と呼びます。古の日本では、文人たちにとって色紙は大切なものであったことから、学業達成や、技芸上達の願いが込められています。

Shikishi-Chirashi-mon (Scattered Shikishi)

“Shikishi” are squares of thick washi paper used for Waka and Haiku poems, paintings, and other uses. A pattern depicting many shikishi papers scattered about is referred to as scattered shikishi pattern.Shikishi were treasured by the literati from ancient times, so this pattern is considered auspicious for achieving academic goals and gaining skill in the arts.
