It was in the Meiji era, about 150 years ago, when brand new types of designs were painted by the artists here in Nishijin, Kyoto.
Representative of the brand seisuke88, TAKAHASHI Seisuke, thought of making this brand when he saw the collections of designs which was kept in a warehouse for more than 150 years.
He was fascinated by the 150 years old design patterns and they made a deep impression on his mind.
From the designs 200 years ago, you can feel something that we almost forgot in our heart. Something warm, something you miss, something cool. Not only tracing those designs, but by mixing tradition with the present, we create a new way of expressing the element of the design from the past.
Seisuke's family has been running a factory for 65 years, arranging textures and clothings.
Seisuke started the brand label in 2003, only six months later meeting of the designs which was kept in a warehouse for more than 150 years.
"seisuke88" is a brand which brought back the
essence of the traditional Japanese designs to our age.

1989 becomes the regular member of his family business.
2003 becomes the Representative of TAKAHASHI RENSEN Co., Ltd.
July 1, 2003 "seisuke88" started sales at Sanjo damashin, Kyoto.
September 1, 2007 official shop seisuke88 opened at Snjyo St. Kyoto.
